The outdoor event takes place in a historic castle park in Tata, where visitors can enjoy great food and wine at reasonable prices, as well as meet some of Hungary’s leading restaurateurs and winemakers.

Wines will be poured by members of the exclusive Pannon Wine Guide from all over Hungary and beyond the country’s borders. These will include: Bock, A. Gere and Gere Tamás & Zsolt from Villány, Dúzsi, Eszterbauer, Heimann and Vesztergombi from Szekszárd, Pannonhalma Archabbey Winery from Pannonhalma, Gál Tibor and Tóth Ferenc Wineries from Eger, Bott Frigyes from Slovakia and Balla Géza from Romania.

Designed by star architect Zoltán Varró of Aria Hotel fame, Platán immediately won two Michelin stars shortly after opening thanks to the inventive cuisine of István Pesti. Also offering rooms to stay, the restaurant and lodging are set beside a beautiful lake with rare birdlife, part of an estate and historic castle that once belonged to the noble Esterházy dynasty. 

It is named after the plane tree still standing here after more than 200 years. This attractive location is only 50 minutes from Budapest by car or InterCity train.

What is the Pannon Wine Guild?

The Pannon Wine Guild (Pannon Bormíves Céh) is an association of the most significant family wineries in Hungary, founded in 1999 by ten wineries. Now 33 strong, the members of the guild hold sampling events, including an annual Christmas tasting. The guild has overseen the significant development of Hungary’s wine industry over the past two decades and more.

SVÉT

The acronym SVÉT is an abbreviation for Stílusos Vidéki Éttermiség, which loosely translates as ‘Stylish Intellectual Gastronomy from the Countryside’. These four letters will be used on all publicity and literature associated with the event.
