Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest Thrilled With Results Of Its iPad Wine List
"Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest is pioneering once again by introducing an interactive iPad wine list in the Restaurant Giardino using the iRiS Sommelier software. Corvinus is the first to adopt the new technology in Hungary, while protecting the environment at the same time.

Restaurant Giardino adopted iRiS Sommelier last October to digitize its wine menu. It allows the hotel to present its wine cellar in an exciting, informative and impressive way. Diners can browse through the list, enhanced by the stunning images and detailed descriptions of the products.

Searching by grape variety and regional preference to find the perfect wine couldn’t be easier; additional information such as tasting notes, aromas and other characteristics are available at the touch of a finger.

Operationally, the restaurant can update its wine lists, allowing it to add sommelier’s recommendations, and promotional offers instantly. A positive side effect is the reduction in use of paper in line with the hotel’s green policy.

Restaurant Giardino features the hotel’s Corvinus’ Cuisine, a tribute to King Matthias, Hungary’s most beloved King and his wife Beatrice, serving traditionally prepared Hungarian dishes, new Hungarian cuisine and a light Mediterranean Grill Menu accompanied by the best local and Mediterranean wines, crowned by a vast selection of the finest Bordeaux wines and champagne.

Zoltán Tóth, F&B Service Manager at the Kempinski Hotel Corvinus, says: “We are always looking to innovate and provide diners with a better experience. The feedback from our guests has been excellent and they are enjoying choosing their wines more than ever. It brings our wine list to life and allows our sommelier to engage on a new level with our guests.”
