Fidesz Executive Argues For Voter Registration In Hungary
Prior registration ahead of parliamentary elections is necessary because elections cannot be held any other way, Fidesz executive vice-president Lajos Kosa asserted in an interview with Vilaggazdasag. Kosa said the present system does not know what to do about those who have voting rights as Hungarian citizens but are not in the population register.

“Nor can it do anything for those who do not lead a regular life in Hungary and cannot be reached in any other way,” he added.

He said the registration will run until the election campaign starts.

More generally, he remarked that “Hungary suffers from the illusion that the best way to solve problems is to introduce new regulations”.

Regarding the construction of a Ft 12.5 billion stadium in Debrecen, of which he is mayor, Kosa contended that no arena in the world recoups its cost.

Kosa said he has not made up his mind on whether to run for mayor again at the next elections.
