Hungary's Deputy State Secretary: Need For Action Against Trafficking In Human Beings
Besides national efforts there is a strong need for action at European level to fight against trafficking in human beings (THB) – told Krisztina Berta, the deputy state secretary for EU and international affairs of the Ministry of Interior on a press conference held on the 20th Sziget Festival in Budapest.

The Deputy State Secretary, who is the anti-trafficking coordinator in Hungary, on the opening ceremony of thematic tent set up in Civil Sziget added: owing to its geographical location Hungary is both a transit country and a country of origin.

She emphasized that besides exploitation for sexual purposes, labour exploitation is also a growing problem. Ms Berta drew the attention of the audience that the visitors of this civil tent can get information on the hazards of THB and fill out quizzes too.

British, German, Dutch and Austrian Embassy were also present on the press conference.
