No Funding In Hungary For Expensive Cancer Treatment
The government plans to drastically reduce subsidies for expensive drug treatments for cancer, according to a draft posted on the website of the Human Resources Ministry. If the draft is approved by the cabinet, the budget could save Ft 1-2 billion annually, but cancer patients who have only a few months to live would not initially have access to modern medical treatments that might prolong their lives.

Those who have only a few months to live would first undergo chemotherapy treatment. The medication would be approved only if the traditional treatment does not improve their condition.
