Xpat Report: British Embassy Event 'Fashion Is Great With Glamour Magazine'
The British Embassy in Budapest promoted British fashion at GLAMOUR Gardróbfrissítés (GLAMOUR Refresh Your Wardrobe) event in Arena Plaza on 1 December. Hundreds of fashion fanatics – mostly ladies – were standing through the long queues between 10:00 and 18:00 to get in to the GLAMOUR pop up strore. People were able to purchase the assorted clothes garnered up in November at a standard price of HUF 500.

The event had a double charity angle, because the collected money goes to support Hungarian fashion designers and the remaining clothes go to people in need with the help of the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service.

The British Embassy promoted British fashion during the day. The Embassy had a Fashion is GREAT stand with a hostess specially decorated in the colours of the Union Jack. More than 70 people took part in the competition of “wearing the trendiest British oufit”.

Contenders were photographed in front of a big GLAMOUR cover page, then professional stylists decided over the best outfit. The British Ambassador's wife, Angela Knott, handed over the Fashion is GREAT prize for trendiest British outfit to Réka Bartus who turned out to be an English linguist by profession.
