Hundreds Of Designs Submitted For Budapest Museum Quarter
No plans and designs submitted at the tender for the new National Gallery and Ludwig Museum met all the criteria, so the international jury has not recommended any of them, ministerial commissioner for the project László Baán has announced.

Architects will be invited again in late October to submit proposals for the two new buildings to be built in the City Park, with the results to be announced next spring.

In other tenders, six of the 110 plans filed for the Ethnographic Museum were accepted for a second round, along with six out of 170 for the House of Hungarian Music and five out of 110 for the shared Photography and Architecture Museum.

The Museum of Fine Arts will close on February 15, 2015 for a renovation to be completed in 2018. During that time, most of its collection will be displayed in the National Gallery.
