'Forever and Ever', Festival Theatre, 27 December
With its mixture of authentic folk dances, fine art, world music and virtuosity, the latest production of the Duna Art Ensemble immerses the audience in the enchanting world of folk-dance theatre. It attempts to stimulate thought, to relax and calm the viewer, and of course to entertain.

The theme of the performance is trees – trees symbolising life and death, fertility and abundance, love and knowledge, time and history, the cross… The tree is the link between two worlds, the sky and the earth. It tells of our everyday lives, our infinite rituals and myths, the eternal cycle of life, and our embattled existence.

The production bears the hallmarks of authenticity, but retains an innovative and contemporary spirit that transforms the folk dancing and folk music into elements of a contemporary theatrical performance. However, the modern interpretations of the traditional motifs do not detract from their value; on the contrary, they sustain them and bring them to life.

The backbone of the production is formed by Bulgarian, Turkish, Greek and Romanian dances.
