Thousands Of Brokerage Jobs In Danger In Hungary
The jobs of some 3,700 employees in 229 companies linked to the bankrupt brokerages Buda-Cash and Hungária Értékpapír are in danger, corporate data provider Opten said in a report issued yesterday. The affected companies were also active in public procurement tenders and over the last three years secured Ft 2.5 billion in EU subsidies.

Of the 229, 44 companies were active in the financial sector, 42 in real estate, and 40 in the consultancy business, said Opten. Their combined annual revenue was in the range of Ft 40 billion.

Opten warned that the liquidation of one entity within in a network of companies could trigger the fall of others.
