Budapest Hospital Short Of Anaesthesiologists
Three fourths of the anaesthesiologists at Budapest’s Szent Imre Hospital have left, forcing the postponement of operations, news website Index reported on Wednesday. Six out of eight quit after their chief, the head of ward left the hospital. The hospital said in a statement that it continues to employ 15 anaesthesiologists and no operations have been cancelled. As there is a shortage of anaesthesiologists across Europe, those who have left could earn three or four times as much abroad as in Hungary, Index observes.
