TAP Portugal To Suspend Budapest Flights
TAP Portugal is suspending its Budapest flights in April, an airline representative said in daily Magyar Hírlap. Péter Szolnok told the paper that the airline came under new management last year and the strategy they adopted involves scrapping a number of flights, such as ones to Bucharest, Goteborg, Hannover and Zagreb.

Since last December, TAP has operated nine flights via Budapest per day. Mihály Hardy, the spokesman for Liszt Ferenc International operator Budapest Airport, said they had only been informed about TAP Portugal’s decision on Monday.

There are other carriers who operate flights on the routes TAP Portugal is suspending; for example, Wizz Air has a Lisbon-Budapest flight, Hardy said, adding that popular routes usually do not remain without flights for long.
