Budapest Liszt Academy Recognised As European Heritage Label Site
The Budapest Franz Liszt Academy of Music has been selected to be recognised as a European Heritage Label site this year, the EU commissioner in charge of culture said in Budapest on Friday.

The European Commission awards the heritage label to heritage sites in Europe that not only serve local communities but are important from the point of view of European identity and common European history, Tibor Navracsics told a press conference.

The Liszt Academy, a masterpiece of Hungarian Art Nouveau, symbolises well the country’s contribution to European culture, he said. The Commission decided in February to add the Liszt Academy along with eight other sites to the label list.
