Govt Programme Worth HUF 9BN To Promote IT Skills Among Adults
The economy ministry will use a budget of nearly 9 billion forints (EUR 28.9m) to launch a programme designed to improve the digital literacy of Hungary’s adult population, state secretary István Lepsényi told a conference.

Lepsényi quoted a study which said that 85% of companies would digitalise their processes in the next four years, and noted the increasing importance of digital skills for job seekers.

Ákos Kara, state secretary at the development ministry, said that government measures to promote computer skills were necessary because fully 20% of Hungary’s adults aged 16-74 were not using the internet at all.
