Tesco Tops FMCG Sellers List, Surpasses Local Chains
The local unit of U.K.ʼs Tesco supermarket chain topped Trade magazineʼs list of the biggest sellers of fast-moving consumer goods last year based on revenue, editor Zsuzsanna Hermann said.

Tesco Globál Áruházak had gross revenue of HUF 748 billion last year.

Runner-up was Hungarian-owned Coop, with sales of HUF 571 bln, followed by locally-owned CBA, with HUF 509 bln.

Foreign-owned Spar was in fourth place with turnover of HUF 491 bln and Hungarian-owned Real was fifth, with HUF 389 bln.

German-owned Lidl had turnover of HUF 359 bln and French-owned Auchan had revenue of HUF 337 bln. Penny Market (HUF 221 bln), Aldi (HUF 135 bln) and DM (HUF 77 bln) were at the bottom of the list.
