Budapest, Vienna To Host Armel Opera Festival
Budapest and Vienna will jointly host the tenth Armel Opera Festival from June 28 to July 4, the festival director said. The festival will start in Budapest’s Thália Theatre with Rufus Wainwright’s Prima Donna performed by the Pécs-based Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra, Ágnes Havas said.

Performances in Vienna will include Udo Zimmermann’s Die Weisse Rose by Theatre Orchestra Bienne Solure, Dejan Despić’s Priest Ćira and Priest Spira by the Serbian National Theatre, Operetta by the Warsaw Chamber Opera and Martyna Kosecka’s Klotho by the Croatian National Theatre.

The festival will close with a gala in Budapest, the director said.
