Digital Theme Park Opened
Every school in Hungary will be equipped with ultra-fast broadband internet and WiFi by the end of the 2018-19 school year, Tamás Deutsch, head of the Digital Welfare Programme, said yesterday in Székesfehérvár.

Deutsch spoke at the opening of the Alba Innovár, Hungary’s first digital theme park, where visitors can have first-hand experience of high-tech digital technology, from 3D sculptures to interactive Lego robots.

The local authority spent Ft 225 million on the theme park.

Students will have free access to its programmes in the next three years.

The school of the future is engaging and digital, because the students themselves are ”digital natives,” Deutsch observed.

The government is also working to supply schools with the necessary hardware and to train teachers.

In this school year 40,000 of Hungary’s teachers – about one third of the total – will take part in some form of digital training, Deutsch added. (hvg.hu; origo.hu; magyaridok.hu; napi.hu)
