Hungary Tax Authority Reports Hundreds Of Billions Of Increased Forint Revenue
Tax revenue last year grew by more than 609 billion forints (EUR 1.97bn), an economy ministry official told public television. András Tállai, parliamentary state secretary for tax affairs, noted that the government reduced the tax burden last year and he insisted this had led to higher tax revenues.

“The economy’s good performance combined with the new philosophy of tax administration -- to be helpful and supportive -- has also contributed to making more people fulfil their tax obligations,” he said.

“It can be said that declining taxes and a more supportive tax authority has led to better tax morale.”
