Robots Increasingly Replacing Manual Work In Hungary
The number of industrial robots in Hungary has climbed by 13 percent to 5,400, business daily Világgazdaság reports, citing data from the International Federation of Robotics (IFR). Half of the robots used were so-called handling robots, designed to replace manual work.

Fully 17 percent were welding robots and 16 percent used for assembly and disassembly, IFR said.

The number of robots per 10,000 labourers stood at 57; however, in the automotive industry the number was 281. The average number of robots per 10,000 workers for all of Europe is 99.

IFR forecast a further rise of robot sales in the automotive sector between 2017-2020, due to the recently launched capacity increasing investments.

Hungary will be the first country in Europe to host the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) for young people, in 2019, the human resources ministry said on Friday.
