Hungarian Success @ International Wine Competition In Paris
Canter Wine House’s 2017 Magnus Sárgamuskotály won the silver medal at the prestigious wine competition, Vinalies Internationales, held in Paris, VG.hu reports.

The winning wines were selected by a jury of 130 well-known wine experts. The medal-winning Hungarian white wine comes from the Balaton Wine Region.

Vinalies Internationales Wine Competition

Vinalies Internationales is one of the most prestigious wine competitions in the wine world which is organised every year by the Union of French Oenologists.

During the five-day-event, a jury of 130 wine experts come together to blind taste more than 3000 bottles of wines from all over the world.

The wines compete in six categories: dry red, dry rosé, dry white, sweet, liqueur and sparkling. There is also a separate class for spirits.

The most note-worthy wines are given gold and silver medals, and a small number of exceptional wines are awarded the Vinalies Tropy.

In 2018, more than 3,500 bottles of wines entered the competition in Paris. It is kind of a huge deal to win here, as the medal-winning bottles are sold all over the world and are recognised and appreciated both by distributors and by consumers.

This year, the Hungarian Canter Wine House’s 2017 Magnus Sárgamuskotály won the silver medal within the dry white wine category.

The vineyards of the Canter Wine House are located in various areas of the Northern parts of Lake Balaton. Canter Wine House is one of the most modern wineries in Hungary that offer a wide selection of white, red and rosé wines.

Canter has two distinguished wine families called Dandelion and Magnus. Gergő Gelencsér, the vintner at Canter, told VG.hu that the medal-winning 2017 Magnus Sárgamuskotály is a really special and complex white wine with an overwhelming fruity and spicy smell that will enchant everyone who tries it.
