Drugstore Chains Booming In Hungary
On average every third Hungarian is buying a face care product at Drogerie Markt (DM) and every fourth a body care product at the same chain. Moreover, the company sees further room for growth, business daily Világgazdaság reports.

Three drugstore chains dominate nearly 80% of the annual HUF 280 billion cosmetics market in Hungary; namely DM, Rossmann and Müller. All managed to grow their revenues last year compared to 2016: DM from HUF 85.5 bln to HUF 93.9 bln; Rossmann from HUF 68 bln to HUF 78.4 bln; Müller from HUF 37.6 bln to HUF 46.7 bln.

DM expects to surpass HUF 100 bln in revenues this year, generated in 259 stores in Hungary. Of these, the company has renovated 44, opened six new and closed two outlets. DM plans to open 11 new stores this year.

Rossmann, present on the Hungarian market for 25 years, opened its 200th store last year. The company focuses to a great extent on its web shop, offering more than 10,000 products and free shipping for orders above HUF 12,000, Világgazdaság notes.
