Business Confidence Rises, Consumer Confidence Falls In July
Economic research institute GKI’s combined gauge of consumer and confidence rose to 10.5 points in July from 9.8 points in the previous month.

The business confidence index rose to 17.3 points from 15.3 points. Business confidence improved in all sectors apart from the commerce sector, where expectations slightly deteriorated.

Construction sector sentiment deteriorated somewhat among civil engineering companies but improved among building companies.

Satisfaction concerning output in the previous period slightly weakened but still remained relatively strong. Assessments of orders were unchanged.

The consumer confidence index fell to a low for the year. The index dropped to -9.0 points in July from -5.7 points in June.

Consumers became more pessimistic both about their financial positions and their ability to make savings in future.
