Hilton Budapest City Announces Mehdi Othmani As New General Manager
Hilton Budapest City has announced that hospitality professional Mehdi Othmani, is the new General Manager of the hotel, replacing Rainer Gieringer who, after almost four years in Budapest City, took over the Athénée Palace Hilton Bucharest.

With over 20 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, Mr. Othmani joins Hilton Budapest City having previously held the position of General Manager at Hilton Salalah, Hilton Kampala and Hilton Plaza Hurghada.

A German national, born in Tunisia, Mehdi has lived and worked in a number of countries worldwide, including Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Turks & Caicos Island, Morocco, Kenya, Egypt, Uganda and Oman. Before joining Hilton Worldwide, he also worked for Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts, and Rewe Touristik.

Mr. Othmani, holds a Master’s degree in hospitality management from Almeda University, New York and a certification in financial management of hotels from Cornell School of Hotel Administration. His career began as a lecturer at the Mediterranean Institute of Tourism in Tunis.

In his role as General Manager of Hilton Budapest City, Mr. Othmani will be primarily responsible for managing the hotel operations which offers 230 spacious rooms on 4 floors, including top Executive Floor, 21 Suites and considerable meeting and event facilities, maintaining the service excellence and continue bringing the dream of Conrad Hilton to life, his dream of "filling the earth with light and warmth of hospitality".

He is an Advanced Adventurer Diver who is very engaged to embrace environment challenges and finding solutions day in and day out. His previous hotel in Salalah has bagged international accomplishment for being Green Globe certified hotel.
