Household Gas In Budapest Remains Cheaper Than In Other European Capitals
Household gas prices in Budapest remained lower than in any other European capital in the first half of last year, according to data from Eurostat.

Retail consumers in Budapest paid 3.09 eurocents per unit of gas, 0.05 eurocents less than in Bucharest and 0.17 eurocents less than in Belgrade.

At the other extreme, the average price of natural gas in Stockholm was 24.8 eurocent.

Budapest moved up two spots in the same ranking gauging electricity prices. Budapest residents paid the second-lowest price after Belgrade, at 11.3 eurocents per kWh.

When adjusted for purchasing power, Budapest electricity prices were ninth lowest and gas prices fourth lowest.
