E-Bike Subsidy Launched In Hungary
The government will introduce a Ft 1 billion subsidy scheme supporting the purchase of electric bikes in October, energy and climate policy state secretary of the Innovation and Technology Ministry Péter Kaderják announced this Tuesday.

Private individuals can apply for up to Ft 90,000 as a state subsidy for a pedal assist sensor e-bike and Ft 150,000 for a torque sensor e-bike.

The grant can cover a maximum of half the purchase price.

The government is aiming to help commuters, so applicants should also attach employment details.

None of the subsidised e-bikes may cost more than Ft 900,000.

The 1 billion allocation will support the purchase of more than 7,000 e-bikes, according to Máriusz Révész, Government Commissioner for an Active Hungary.
