Hungarian Opinion: PM Orbán Expects Fast Growth In 2021
A pro-government commentator is hopeful that Prime Minsiter Orbán and National Bank President Matolcsy are right to expect a swift rebound for the Hungarian economy and the start of another ‘golden era of growth’.

In Magyar Nemzet, Gergely Kiss shares Prime Minister Orbán and National Bank President Matolcsy’s optimism that the Hungarian economy will rebound fast in 2021.

In separate interviews last week, the Prime Minister and György Matolcsy said that Hungarian growth will be the fastest in the past 100 years if vaccination proceeds fast.

The pro-government columnist recalls that from 2010 until the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, both the Hungarian GDP and  employment figures grew fast and the debt ratio was shrinking.

Kiss is confident that the government could help Hungary recover again – as opposed to what he calls the motley crew of the opposition parties including the far-right and the far-left.
