Hot Air Balloon Planned For Budapest City Park
According to a tender announced last summer, a facility for a helium-powered hot air balloon for 25 people will be built in the City Park, website Városliget reported.

It will not be possible to travel with the balloon as it will remain attached to the ground with ropes at several points, but passengers will be able to ascend to enjoy the panorama.

According to the tender, the operator will have to pay a monthly public land use fee of between Ft 600,000 and Ft 1.2 million for the use of the public park.

The website adds that the area is currently beautifully forested, but “in order for the hot air balloon to take off, the terrain obviously needs to be cleared of trees”.
