Neutering & Microchipping Of Rural Cats & Dogs To Receive Financial Support
The government has made Ft 500 million available to villages to provide identification chips for pets, inoculate dogs against rabies and neuter dogs and cats.

Local councils can apply for up to Ft 1.5 million, said Alpár Gyopáros, government commissioner for the development of modern municipalities.

The final deadline for bids is July 18.

Péter Ovádi, ministerial commissioner for renewing and implementing the national animal protection programme, said the goal of the project is to provide assistance to villages with fewer than 5,000 residents to reduce unwanted animal offspring.

The Ft 500 million sum is sufficient to neuter 14,000 animals.
