Hottest-Ever June in Hungary
The temperature of 40C gauged yesterday is a record high not only for June 24, but is the highest ever recorded in Hungary in June, the National Weather Service announced.

Thursday’s national average temperature of near 37C is 10C higher than usual at this time of the year.

The highest temperature of exactly 40C was gauged in Fülöpháza, as thermometers in Hungary rose to 40C for the first time in four years.

The daily maximum record was broken in Budapest by nearly 3C, as 38.1C was recorded in Újpest.
