Iconic 'Whale' Building in Budapest to be Renewed
State tourism agency MTÜ is renewing the Bálna (“Whale”) exhibition centre in the Ninth District in Budapest for a net Ft 2.6 billion, according to the EU public procurement website.

Construction company West Hungária Bau won the job, for which the contract was signed on May 26.

EB Hungary Invest and Aktuál Bau also made bids in the tender.

The city of Budapest sold the building to the MTÜ for Ft 11.2 billion in May 2019.

The building on the Danube riverside will receive decorative lighting as well.
