Celebrate the Return of 'May Day of Museums' in Hungary This Weekend
After a two-years gap, this popular Museum Festival returns with all programmes - including entrance to the National Museum - free of charge during the weekend of 21 – 22 May.

The Hungarian National Museum invites Xpats to see highlights of exhibitions on display at over 70 museums, and to enjoy related children's activities, dance and theatrical performances, and concerts. There will also be a special WAMP design fair, plus local gastro specialities we're told.

Filling the museum gardens with diverse open-air displays, visitors can find out about many topics connected to this year’s main theme “Museums in gardens – gardens and museums” - investigating the protection and cultivation of nature in the city’s green zones, as well as recycling, and an environmentally conscious lifestyle.

On Sunday evening 'Ivan and the Parazol' and Dj Bootsie will perform. Also, the Willany Leo Company will present a unique dance, and Bálint Adorjáni’s chamber piece will be on show - see below for the full programme with timing.
