Big Brewers' Sales Edge Up in Hungary

Sales rebounded after a 10pc decline in 2023, returning to growth levels seen in 2021 and 2022, Sandor Kantor said.
Volume of domestically brewed beer slipped 3.3pc to a little under 500m litres as imports climbed 20pc to 77m litres.
Sales of premium and superpremium beers came to 174m litres, 31pc of total sales. Sales of beers in the mid-range category reached 299m litres, 54pc of the total. Sales volume of non-alcoholic and low alcohol content beers was 43m litres, 8pc of the total.
Sales of beer in barrels to catering establishments edged up 2pc to 39m litres.
Beer in aluminium cans accounted for 72pc of domestic sales.
The association data includes sales of Borsodi, Dreher, Heineken Hungaria, Carlsberg Hungary and Pecsi Sorfozde.
