869 New Buses Headed to Hungary

State-owned public transportation company MAV Szemelyszallitasi has successfully closed a HUF 76.5bn tender for 869 new buses, the Construction and Transportation Ministry said on Thursday.

Tender winner Kravtex-Khune will deliver 269 of the buses to put on the road before year-end. A further 300 will be delivered in 2026 and 300 more in 2027.

Including 131 new buses delivered to MAV group's VOLAN in the summer, the fleet will grow by 1,000, in line with an earlier pledge made by the transportation minister.
