More Speed Cameras Coming in Budapest
- 28 Aug 2025 9:22 AM
The 26 speed cameras installed over 47 traffic lanes last autumn recorded 145,769 speeding incidents in the first half of the year, Karacsony said on Facebook, citing police data, adding that this was "an unacceptably high number".
At the same time, he said, a favourable trend has emerged, as the average number of daily speeding incidents has fallen to 805 from 1,490 last November.
"So it was worth installing the cameras, but an additional 38 will be needed, and there is a joint plan with the police to install them," Karacsony said.
