Annual 'Night Run' in Budapest this Weekend
The Generali Night Run returns for its 11th edition on Saturday, 30 August. This annual running event invites locals and expats alike to race through the stunningly illuminated streets of the capital. Participants can choose from four different running distances, and there’s even a cycling option for those who prefer two wheels over two feet. On Sunday, 31 August, a half marathon can be completed individually or in a relay team.

Night Run Budapest 2025 is more than just a race — it's a summer highlight and a one-of-a-kind community experience under the stars, set against the stunning backdrop of the city’s most iconic landmarks.

The start and finish area will be at Várkert Bazár, where the festive atmosphere kicks off long before the first step.

Participants will be welcomed with glowing wristbands, energizing music, and a lively group warm-up to get into the night-time rhythm.

The course leads runners through unforgettable spots — like the tunnel beneath Buda Castle, over the Chain Bridge, and along the scenic banks of the Danube—blending sport with a uniquely urban adventure.

Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned runner, there’s a challenge for everyone:

  • 5 km Midnight Sprint

  • 7 km

  • 12 km

  • 21 km Half Marathon

A staggered start system ensures smooth flow and allows everyone to enjoy the run at their own pace.

At the finish line, runners are rewarded with a commemorative medal, refreshments, and well-deserved applause — celebrating personal achievements, no matter the distance.

Safety and seamless organization are top priorities. Each route features refreshment stations, on-site medical teams, and a dedicated group of volunteers ready to assist.

Registration includes an official event T-shirt, reflective gear, and special keepsakes—so the memory of the Night Run stays with you long after the race is over.
