Will Pepco Leave Hungary?
Polish discount retailer Pepco has denied any plans to withdraw from the Hungarian market, following reports of store closures in Germany.

Responding to tabloid Blikk, the company said those closures were part of a targeted restructuring limited exclusively to Germany and were not indicative of wider retrenchment.

Pepco is a key player in Hungary’s discount retail landscape, with more than 260 stores nationwide.

It holds a strong position in the low-cost fashion and household goods segment, although competition has intensified with the arrival of Chinese-owned chains such as Miniso and TEDi.

Pepco also highlighted that its group-wide sales have reached record levels, underlining that the German decision is an isolated step, not a harbinger of broader restructuring.
