Now On: 'Downtown Beer Festival' in Budapest

Entry to the festival is free, but to taste beers, attendees must purchase a special festival glass on-site, available in two premium versions priced at HUF 4,250 and 5,999, respectively.
Special programs include beer tastings led by experts, tapping demonstrations, and even 'beer spa' experiences where interested attendees can enjoy baths infused with beer ingredients.
The festival promises more than 250 types of beer overall, including the finest craft specialties from Hungary’s best breweries and a diverse selection of international top tastes brought by leading importers, making it a great place to discover new favorites.
The event’s atmosphere is enhanced by street food options from various FoodTrucks, offering everything from Hungarian classics like lángos and chimney cake to international flavors including burgers, grilled meats, pizza, and more. This combination of quality beers and fab street food promises a tasty experience.
The festival runs for six days with varying hours: Tuesday and Wednesday from noon to midnight, Thursday through Saturday with extended hours until 2 a.m., and Sunday closing at midnight.
In addition to the amazing beer and food offerings, the festival features entertainment with live music performances by around 40 mostly local bands and DJs across the event days.

The festival’s setting in Szabadság tér offers a picturesque environment surrounded by historic buildings and greenery, perfect for enjoying late summer evenings under fairy lights with friends, family, and fellow beer lovers.
The event is also dog-friendly, welcoming all guests and their furry companions.
Accessibility is easy via public transit, walking, or biking. There are parking facilities nearby, including an underground garage under the square.
