Budapest's Keleti Station Reopens – But Train Delays Expected There Until December
National railway company MAV has announced the re-opening of Budapest's landmark Keleti Railway Station following "the largest technical refurbishment" of the facility in recent times.

The refurbishment project, which started on August 25, cost a total 4.4 billion forints (EUR 1.1m), and will ensure safe operations of the station's systems, reducing breakdowns and making services more accurate and reliable, MAV said in a statement.

The company welcomed that temporary services during the renovation project were effective and ensured that commuters could reach their destinations each day.

MAV warned, however, that follow-up works until December could still cause minor delays.
