FügeFeszt: Autumn Food & Wine Festival in Badacsony by Lake Balaton, 10 - 12 October
The second edition of FügeFeszt will take place between 10 - 12 October on the lakeside beach in Badacsony, bringing together gastronomy, culture and music against the backdrop of Lake Balaton in autumn. One highlight will be the announcement of which dessert earns the title of “Balaton Cake 2025.”

Created to showcase Lake Balaton as a four-season destination, the festival offers a mix of culinary experiences, artistic programmes and cultural entertainment, all set in the unusual location of the Badacsony beach – with the shimmering autumn lake providing a striking atmosphere.

Alongside tastings, the festival features cooking demonstrations, stage workshops and talks, with fig as the star ingredient. Many of Hungary’s leading restaurants, wineries and hospitality venues from the Balaton region will take part.

Live music is central to the event, adding to the gastronomic experience and lakeside setting. Guests can enjoy a glass of wine, local food, sunset views and concerts that turn the occasion into a memorable autumn weekend.

Explore Badacsony During Your Visit

The festival site is a short walk from the train and bus stops. Drivers can use town car parks along Route 71, and the venue can also be reached by bicycle, transfer buses from nearby villages, or ferries from Fonyód.

Beyond the main festival grounds, Badacsony’s restaurants will also offer special fig-inspired dishes and drinks.

Visitors are encouraged to explore the hill during harvest time – the scent of grapes and must, combined with sweeping views of the lake, creates a unique autumn atmosphere. Walk, take a local hill taxi, or even rent an e-bike at the BB365 point in the Hableány building.

Accommodation in the region tends to sell out quickly during the festival, so booking early is advised – last year Badacsony was fully booked for the event weekend.
