Located beside the large parking lot in Hévíz, this market operates year-round and features local farmers and artisans. If you’re combining a spa visit with some shopping, this is a great stop. During autumn and winter, special events are often held.
It’s open Tuesdays and Saturdays from 8:00 to 13:00, and on Thursdays from 12:00 to 17:00.
Keszthely City Market
Situated in the heart of Keszthely between the Main Square and the theatre, this market bursts into life on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. Among the variety, you’ll find the region’s famous Keszthely puszedli (a local gingerbread treat). Several cafés, honey shops and producers’ shops remain open during the week as well.
Tapolca Market and Hall
On Tuesdays and Fridays between early morning and noon, this market near the bus station offers fresh vegetables, fruit, eggs, flowers, bakery goods, smoked meats—and even lángos.
Veszprém Market Hall
Open daily except Sundays, with peak activity on Tuesdays and Fridays starting at 6:00. Around 63 stalls offer goods from nearby farmers and artisans. Inside the hall, you’ll also find garden supply shops, stationery, breakfast eateries and a lángos stand.
Veszprém “Polish Market”
Held on Sundays along Házgyári Road, this is a flea-style market where almost anything is on offer: truck parts, vinyl records, high-heeled shoes, and more.
Liliomkert Market (Káptalantóti area)
Open Sunday mornings year-round, this market near Káptalantóti offers a mix of local foods and handcrafted goods in a scenic rural setting. It’s lively whether the weather is sunny, rainy or snowy.
Dörgicse Farmers’ Market
Held every second Saturday from 8:30 to 11:30 in the courtyard of the village hall, this more intimate market features sourdough breads, smoked meats, cheeses, jams, dried fruits, honey specialties and ceramics. You can even begin your market visit with a freshly grilled sausage.
Gyenesdiás Market
Close to the beach, this market runs throughout the year. Alongside local produce, food stalls serve *lángos*, homemade strudel, and regional wines.
Balatonfüred Market Hall
Open daily except Sunday, starting at 6:00. In addition to produce, the hall houses small utility shops (groceries, key-cutting, tobacco). Parking is free.
Nagyvázsony Animal & Flea Fair
Held on the first Sunday of every month at the Draught Horse Centre, this fair includes livestock sales (poultry, pigs, horses) and a large flea market with crafts. It runs from about 6:00 to noon.
Tihany Piac Placc
Held on Saturday mornings by the ferry docks, this market is more than a place to shop — it’s a community gathering. Expect fresh local food, craft stalls, breakfast options, and occasional workshops.
Other Local Markets Worth Visiting
Balatonalmádi Town Market
This small, welcoming market is open on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday mornings from 6 am to 2 pm. Alongside produce from local farmers, you’ll also find handmade goods and even a flea market section.
Balatonföldvár Farmers’ Market
From 1 April to 15 October, visitors can browse fresh fruit, vegetables, cheese and other local treats every day near the railway station. Open 7:30 am to 1 pm.
Balatonszárszó Market
Every Saturday from 8 am to noon you can pick up local produce and homemade delicacies.
Balatonszemes Farmers’ Market
Open year-round, this market offers seasonal produce from local farmers, a great selection of handmade products, and a friendly atmosphere.
Balatonboglár Farmers’ Market
From April through November, local producers set up daily at Vörösmarty Square between 6 am and 2 pm.
Fonyód Market
Fonyód is home to Lake Balaton’s largest market, covering three hectares. You could easily spend a whole morning here browsing the lively mix of local produce, handmade items, and specialities from Somogy county.
Kincses Somogy Farmers’ Market
Held in Keszeg Street, Balatonmáriafürdő, this family-friendly market features food products such as meat, dairy and honey, along with artisan goods. Until the end of September it runs on Tuesday and Saturday mornings, and from October only on Saturdays.
Nivegy-liget Farmers’ Market
On Friday afternoons in Szentantalfa, local farmers and artisans gather in the courtyard of the village hall. Expect seasonal products and a social, community-style atmosphere.
Hegymagas Market Square
Every Saturday morning at the foot of St George’s Hill on the northern shore, you’ll find a much-loved market with local produce, artisan goods, scenic views, and regular community events. On weekdays, you can also sample products from “Hegymagasi Marhaságok”.
Vászoly Market
During summer this market is held every other Saturday. This year, however, it will only return on 4 October for the Harvest Festival and again on 6 December for the Advent Fair, with local produce, handicrafts and unique gifts on offer.
Szántódpuszta Market
Every Saturday and Sunday the historic market square of the Szántódpuszta Open-Air Museum comes alive with farmers’ produce, handmade crafts, second-hand goods, and traditional community events. The location lies between Zamárdi and Szántód, just off Highway 7.
Csopak Eco-Market
Until the end of October, you can visit this small, family-style market every Saturday from 7 am to 2 pm in the courtyard of the Balaton Wine Mansion.
Siófok Farmers’ Market
Until the end of September you’ll find the market in Sóstó, at the Siócamping car park. From October it moves to the square by the Sió Fish Fry, near the sailing marina and city centre. Open on Saturdays.
Patkó Gastro Market, Zamárdi
Until the end of September, every Sunday morning local farmers from Somogy county sell fresh produce at the Patkó Buffet. Alongside the market stalls, visitors can enjoy breakfast specials and lángos.
Paloznak Market
On the third Sunday of each month, from 9 am to noon, local farmers and artisans welcome visitors with fresh produce and handmade goods in the courtyard of the village hall.
