Now On: JazzFest Budapest's Autumn Concert Series
Legendary musician Miles Davis will be celebrated in the JazzFest Budapest autumn concert series, until November 17, with performances by Marcus Miller, Bill Evans, Kenny Garrett and Keyon Harrold.

Miles Davis, jazz trumpeter, bandleader and composer, one of the most influential figures in jazz, would have turned 100 in 2026, and JazzFest Budapest will begin a centennial concert series this autumn.

The most influential artists of contemporary jazz will pay tribute to Davis, all of whom are world stars in their own right, and are closely connected to his oeuvre, the organisers told MTI.

Bassist, composer and producer Marcus Miller, who was one of Miles Davis' most important collaborators in the 1980s, will give a concert at the Erkel Theatre on October 26th.

Marcus Miller wrote and arranged, among other things, the songs for the legendary Tutu album, which became one of the most defining jazz albums of the era.

Keyon Harrold will perform at the Eiffel Workshop on October 28. One of the most exciting artists in contemporary jazz, Keyon Harrold first came to international attention as the trumpeter in Grammy-winning Don Cheadle's film Miles Ahead and with his critically acclaimed album The Musician.

Saxophonist Bill Evans will perform at the Eiffel Workshop on October 30th with Dave Weckl, Steve Weingart and Jimmy Earl. Bill Evans was a key figure in Miles Davis' comeback in the 1980s.

On November 17, the audience can hear saxophonist Kenny Garrett at the Eiffel Workshop. The American musician, who has a very unique tone and style, became a true world star in Miles Davis's band.

The JazzFest Budapest concert series is not just a tribute to Miles Davis, as the performers' concerts are living proof that Davis' legacy lives on, inspires future generations, and continues to show new paths for the future of jazz.
