Béla Kardon, the event's main coordinator, recalled that the Researchers' Night was first organized in Hungary 20 years ago, and since then it has become a tradition that on the last weekend of September, research institutes, universities, libraries, archives, museums, and laboratories open their doors to the general public to provide insight into the secrets of various scientific fields.
The event, which aims to promote the researcher lifestyle in addition to showcasing researchers, is attended by hundreds of thousands of people every year, he added.
Orsolya Ferencz, Ministerial Commissioner for Space Research, said that there is a particularly high interest in space research this year, which also indicates the success of the HUNOR program. Space research will be discussed at several locations during the Researchers' Night.
As an example, he mentioned that visitors are also welcome to the exhibition HUNIVERZUM - Hungarians in Space in Budapest.
Huniverzum can be found at Millenáris, Building G .
1024 Budapest, Kis Rókus utca 16-20.
