Michelin Announces Hungary's Best Restaurants in New 2025 Guide

Also, 13 accommodations in Hungary received Michelin Key awards, which measure hotel excellence. In the evening gala at the Hungarian State Opera, the winning Michelin-starred restaurants and special awards were announced by hosts Zoltán Szujó and Lili Rókusfalvy.

The outstanding value for money Bib Gourmand recommendation was earned by the Budapest Cabrio restaurant and 94' Konyha & Bar (Budapest).
Overall, currently there are two two-Michelin-starred restaurants in Hungary, eight one-Michelin-starred restaurants, six green-starred restaurants, thirteen Bib Gourmand-awarded restaurants and 55 Michelin-recommended restaurants.

Anikó Túri highlighted Hungary’s outstanding achievements in tourism in international comparison, with record guest numbers and growing revenues demonstrating tourism’s key role in the economy. Visitors seek authentic experiences and memorable meals showcasing Hungary’s local ingredients, craftsmanship, and innovation.
Olivér Csendes stated that dedication, professionalism, and creativity contribute to Hungary’s gastronomic appeal internationally. He described the Michelin award as the "Oscar in the realm of flavors" but warned that retaining this recognition is equally important.
He emphasized that Michelin recognition is not about high prices or luxury - restaurants focusing on local ingredients can be just as outstanding as high-end luxury establishments.
