Tasty Fish Festival Featuring Live Music at Balaton, 10 - 12 October
- 9 Oct 2025 6:49 AM
The professional tasting jury, including chef Frigyes Vomberg and 2023 Bocuse d'Or Hungarian champion Noel Fodor, will select the best fish street food of 2025 from the gastro offers at the event, which will be held for the twelfth time in the center of Siófok, and anyone can then taste it, according to the organisers' press statement.
The festival's events will include a cooking competition and other fish related competitions called Halpiknik and Halánkságok, plus a playhouse, and an 'interactive fish workshop'.
Visitors can hear live entertainment by renowned local performers such as György Korda and Klári Balázs, the National Philharmonic, Follow the Flow, and the Rudán Joe Band.
This year, Hungary's "fish towns" will present themselves on the Main Square: representatives from Baja, Mohács, Paks and Szeged are preparing special fish dishes for the festival.
Also, the Siófok Vocational Training Center and the Porec Tourism High School in Croatia are celebrating their exchange student program starting this year with a joint cooking event.
The Siófok Fish Festival was launched in 2013. The city stated it wanted to create a tradition with the event, and its goal was to promote Lake Balaton and fresh fish consumption.
