Crazy Burglary: Foreigners Caught After Driving Car into Luxury Shop in Budapest
The prosecutor's office of Budapest's sixth and seventh districts has pressed charges against a Montenegrin and a Croatian national that had deliberately reversed a stolen car into the shop window of a luxury outlet on Andrassy Avenue and looted goods from the shop.

The 57- and 58-year-old suspects committed the burglary with a third, yet unidentified accomplice, in the early hours of April 15 last year, the Metropolitan Chief Prosecutor's Office said in a statement.

Two of the perpetrators were identified and arrested later on the day of the burglary, while the third one had left in the stolen car and is at large.

The police recovered 76 of the 80 stolen items worth a total 56.5 million forints (EUR 147,000), the statement said, adding that the burglars caused a damage worth a further 10.5 million forints to the shop.

The prosecutor is seeking a prison sentence for the perpetrators as well as their expulsion from Hungary.

The Montenegrin suspect is awaiting extradition due to proceedings for other crimes he committed in his home country, the statement said.
