Michael Jackson Exhibition in Budapest Now Open Featuring Special Memorabilia

The opening comes at a time when global interest in Jackson is once again on the rise. The trailer for an upcoming biographical film about him recently attracted over 116 million views in 24 hours, and Forbes has named him the highest-earning deceased celebrity of 2025, with his estate generating $105 million in revenue.
Located near Kálvin Square, the Budapest exhibition combines an in-depth audiovisual experience with original artefacts from Jackson’s career. Curated by Balázs Nagy, a private collector who has spent decades sourcing items from international auction houses, film archives, and music history collections, the display features objects being shown in Hungary for the first time.
Beyond the music, the exhibition recalls the artist’s relationship with Budapest. In 1994, Jackson visited the city with his then-wife Lisa Marie Presley to film the promotional video for his HIStory album. The trip — part professional, part honeymoon — drew major media attention at the time.
Items from that visit are now on display, including the black Swarovski gloves and shirt worn during the shoot, the gold and silver helmet from the HIStory tour, and even a speeding ticket signed by Jackson for a Hungarian police officer on duty at the Kempinski Hotel.
Also featured are the iconic white hat from “Smooth Criminal” and the left-handed Swarovski crystal glove from the HIStory era — symbols instantly recognisable to fans around the world.
The exhibition captures Jackson’s ability to merge music, movement, and visual storytelling — his signature hat toss, the moonwalk, and those gravity-defying stage tilts that redefined live performance.
Decades after his death, Jackson’s influence remains deeply embedded in global pop culture.
His songs and videos continue to inspire new generations, his music is regularly adapted for theatre and dance productions, and Cirque du Soleil has built an entire show around his work.
Michael – The HIStory Exhibition in Budapest presents this enduring legacy in a tangible, story-driven way — through authentic artefacts, sound, and imagery that connect the King of Pop’s global story with a distinctly local chapter. It offers something for families, fans, and anyone curious about one of music’s most influential figures.
Address. 1053 Budapest, Kecskeméti utca 5.
