A Unique Musical Encounter at the Grand Finale of the 10th Cziffra Festival
On Wednesday, 5 November 2025, at 7:30pm,  Müpa’s Bartók Béla National Concert Hall in Budapest will host a once-in-a-lifetime musical event to close the 10th Cziffra Festival. To mark György Cziffra’s 104th birthday, the  venue will be graced by three exceptional artists: tenor José Cura, coloratura soprano Erika Miklósa, and Kossuth Prize-winning pianist János Balázs, founder of the festival.

The concert promises to be a true celebration where classical opera repertoire meets diverse musical genres, imbued throughout with Argentine passion. This is not just a tribute to one of the 20th century’s greatest piano virtuosos, but a celebration of musical unity that transcends genres, generations and borders.

The Cziffra Festival has devoted the last decade to revitalising the legacy of György Cziffra, who remains one of Hungary’s most iconic musical figures Since he was sixteen, János Balázs has paid tribute to his idol with annual birthday concerts — a tradition that has evolved into a widely celebrated cultural event.

While the featured artists have all  performed together in pairs, this will be the first time all three share the stage together, guaranteeing a unique and unforgettable experience.

Supported by the Prime Minister’s Office, the Bethlen Gábor Fund, and the Ministry of Culture and Innovation, the Cziffra Festival continues to honour its namesake’s spirit through innovative collaborations and world-class artistry.
