Spectacular Advent Feast At The Basilica In Budapest
The festive season started in front of the Basilica on 1st of December with a beautiful opening ceremony: the festive decoration of the square, the streets and the Christmas market, lit up with the help of the district’s mayor.
During the fair, hot delights and a free skating ring evokes a wonderful Christmas atmosphere. For a whole month, you can enjoy handmade chocolates, gingerbreads and chimney cakes, with treats like macaroons, fish dishes and selected premium coffees.
There are many Christmas markets in and around Budapest, which are equally, all fabulous. For me, what I really enjoyed about this fair was the location. Nicely concealed among the various old buildings with the St. Stephen’s Basilica as a backdrop.
This is the heart of the city and this is a very heart-warming place to do some Christmas shopping or just to enjoy the Christmas spirit. Even if the temperature is getting the wrong side of zero, you can warm the cockles of your heart with some mulled wine, warm fruit tea or a cheeky ‘palinka’ or two!!
