Internet services receive most complaints

Internet services receive most complaints
"Internet service providers (ISP) received the most complaints of any telecommunications service provider last year, according to a survey by Hungary's National Telecommunications Authority (NHH).

The survey shows 42pc of internet subscribers complained to their ISPs last year. About 28pc of landline phone subscribers complained to their phone companies and 15pc of cable TV subscribers complained about their service. Just 3pc of mobile phone subscribers complained to their service providers.

Most of the complaints to ISPs were about the quality of service. For every 1,000 subscribers, 362 complained. ISPs responded to a little more than 250 of these complaints.

For every 1,000 landline subscribers, 226 complained about the quality of service to their providers. Providers, however, considered just 88 of these complaints valid.

For every 1,000 cable TV subscribers, just 95 complained and providers responded to 70 of these complaints.

Landline companies responded the fastest to complaints, solving problems in just under 19 hours on average. It took ISPs 40.5 hours, cable TV companies 32 hours and mobile phone companies 23 hours to do the same.

Mobile phone companies had the best support staff, with just 0.67 subscribers per thousand complaining about how they were assisted. Complaints about help staff came from 3 of every thousand cable TV subscribers, 9.5 of every thousand internet subscribers and 10 of every thousand landline subscribers.

In terms of the time between the signing of contracts and the activation of service, new mobile phone subscribers waited the shortest time -- just one day on average. Landline subscribers had to wait almost 12 days on average, cable TV subscribers had to wait about 13 and internet subscribers had to wait almost 14 days before activation."
