"On The Chain Bridge –– one of the symbols of Budapest –– pedestrians, parents with push-chairs, skaters and passers-by take the place of the usual busy traffic during the hottest weekends of the summer. At the two ends of the bridge, beneath shady parasols, cafés await guests with cooling drinks and the delicious cuisine of various nationalities.
On the bridge the best of Hungarian craftsmen and folk artists sell their wears, and not just to tourists.
“Wonders of Budapest” – street artists and musicians are a very important, if rarely noticed, part of the big city atmosphere.
Every weekend there will be a different surprise in store for both children and adults: acrobats, fire jugglers and bubble blowers, kites and musical instrument demonstrations, portrait painters and musicians.
Visitors can have their picture taken against historic backdrops or alongside strange figures. They can have an adventure on the modern bicycles for hire at the bridge and come back to listen to a concert or simply enjoy the freedom of the city.
