Hungary helps fire-ravaged Greece

Hungary helps fire-ravaged Greece
"Hungary is sending 18 fire-fighters to Greece as that country faces the worst forest fires in its history, it was announced yesterday. Hungary is also sending a doctor and two fire engines.

Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány has not yet been able to speak with his Greek counterpart Constantin Karamanlis, but the two countries are in contact at ambassadorial level, said Foreign Ministry spokesman György Odze.

Lajos Oláh, the Hungarian consul in Athens, said there have been no reports of any Hungarian casualties in the fires."
